It's the kind of book that makes me want to buy a copy for everyone I know (but I think I'll pare it down to those I know, love, and exchange favorite books with).The writing reminds me on "Running with Scissors" and though parts of the book are quite captivating, it lacks something..sometimes seems to all over the place. Francis has observed his own inability to fit in since birth, and his decision to be a professional cosmetologist only exacerbates his innate oddness.This is not a hair book. Religious cults, corporate cults, insane clients—Francis can't catch a break. If you have your own interpretation of "Hairdresser on Fire," it seems silly to throw it out just because Morrissey says it's actually about trying to make an appointment with a hairdresser.
