The so-called comedy parts were just so over the top that they disgusted me instead of making me laugh.

When they move to their new home, their lives become a hell, due to the nasty Mrs. Connelly. I think he should continues his carrier as an actor and not as a director. Now I know why this movie is so unknown to the people. Instead of finding her in breach of contract of a loud noise level ordinance, he go through the great lengths of getting her out, to include booby-trapping her house and hiring a hit-man (but I guess that's funnier.) Sure, it's tons of fun to see Barrymore vomit all over Stiller's face, but why saddle that glorious moment inside 88 minutes of crappy movie? I thought he finally found his way with ''Meet the Parents''. Although aware that they can not move the old lady from her apartment, the young couple decides to buy the duplex.

Put this on last night not know anything about it and was pleasantly surprised.

Why do lame-brained writers automatically think that old people swearing equals comedy gold??!

Duplex has a number of laugh-worthy moments, but they pop up after 10 minutes of baffling setup and provide 15 seconds of good times at a stretch.

However, after enduring Dickie Roberts, The Fighting Temptations and Anything Else of late, I can’t confess that my starvation for laughs contributed to my sporadic outbursts during Duplex. Perhaps better-titled “Throw Momma From The Duplex,” it appears Danny DeVito is mining past movie experiences to create new material. Because anything to do with boys and girls private parts is really funny!

The plot was interesting and finished with a nice twist.

And if that's what you're looking for -- a simple, sweet comedy -- then "Duplex" certainly fits the bill.

Drew Barrymore is not funny at all and the whole movie is full of disgusting gags.

I liked Harvey Fierstein, too, doing his usual fagbag routine, but the whole movie is so stupid and dismal, I can't say one nice thing about it. Was this review helpful? Or so they think…for, unfortunately, the place also comes replete with what turns out to be the tenant from hell, a doddering old woman who lives on the second floor and who makes life miserable for the two of them with her continually blaring television and her constant intrusions into their daily lives. When music and the cosmos collide.

The movie begins like any romantic comedy: the first minutes don't exactly go straight to the action nor give any huge expectations, but you are open-minded to see where the movie is going to develop.

And all it brings is frustration and anger.
