I find myself at a loss for words, but still compelled to say something about this movie.
Any movie that makes me watch it three times, it's worth my while: It was a surprise to me to have William Friedkin getting behind the director's chair too, because I haven't seen anything of his in quite a while, and it felt just like an old Friedkin classic.
Okay, so it might not be the best Indy movie, but it does feature one of the best bug-related scenes in popular cinema.

The acting was fine but I found the Bug character to be annoying at best.

I ordered this on a whim because I am a big Michael Shannon fan, I've always wanted to see it so I gave it a shot.
Regarding the ending, I guess extremely over the top situations like those depicted in this movie really do happen; although it's not regular fare on the 10 o'clock news; thank God.
Now Bug is out to right an old wrong.
With this film, the gritty realism and the real characters and the desperation of the situation make it compelling viewing, even if it is difficult to watch sometimes.
