With a few caveats, this would make a good sci-fi TV series.You come away from the book, and especially its ending, feeling like the author is starting to grapple with themes and ideas which he apparently develops through subsequent novels. Everything about it was messy. It is not a great novel, but the willingness to jump in and grapple with philosophical ideas foreshadows Delany's later work.
